Measuring Cobb Angle with Latest Technology

At Orthaxis, we develop AI-driven software models that measure the Cobb angle using full-body X-ray images. Our latest model, OrthAxis 1.1, accurately detects all spines, including rotated ones, and provides orthopedists, physical therapists, radiologists, and physiotherapists with extensive support.

Our Vision

Our vision is to automatically measure the Cobb angle in under 30 seconds with the second generation of Cobber. Based on our research and estimates, an experienced orthopedic specialist or radiologist typically requires 2–3 minutes to measure a single Cobb angle manually.

Our Journey

During our internships, we had the opportunity to closely observe how angle measurements are performed in the field. We noticed that this process is typically manual and highly dependent on individual precision. This sometimes led to time loss and small but costly errors. This experience made us realize that traditional tools limit efficiency rather than skill.
